Gono makes swift intervention
Following the fire disaster that gutter on a mini-gas station in Ganta City, Nimba County Superintendent Kou Meapea Gono has made a swift intervention.
Upon visiting the scenes and assessing the damage caused the Nimba County Superintendent donated 25 bags of rice and one sack of water to the victims.
Madam Gono said the food can be used by the victim until the National Disaster Management Committee can identify with the victim.
The Nimba County Superintendent has at the same time described the damage caused as a collective loss to the county and not only the fire victims and people of Ganta.
She narrated that one tragic incident in one part of the county affects all parts of the county, as such, it was prudent to identify with the family and stand by them.
Gono used the occasion and console the family for the loss of their businesses and properties adding that the damage is not affecting them alone but rather the entire county.
Properties that got damaged included, over one thousand gallons of gasoline, three shops, a drug store, and a mini guest house among others.
The actual cause of the fire has not been established but sources disclosed that it was a result of a leakage in one of the drums that had gas in it.
The incident which occurred on Friday, September 27, 2024, in the LPMC Market left everyone shocked.
