Nimba County’s Inter-Electoral District League Kicks Off in Ganta City: Defending Champions Face Host Team in Thrilling Opener!

GANTA CITY – The much anticipated Nimba County inter Electoral District League is set to commence in Ganta City Nimba County on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

This prestigious sporting event has over the years brought all nine electoral districts in the county together in Ganta City aims to identify and nurture talented soccer players and kickballers for the formation of a solid county team for Nimba.

The Nimba inter-electoral district league gives way for the commencements of justification of players which is the beginning of the county’s preparation and participation in the National County Sports Meet.

The opening match will feature the 2023/2024 defending champions, District #8, going head-to-head with the host team, District #1, in both kickball and soccer.

The tournament will be held at the Gompa sports pitch in Ganta City, offering a vibrant platform for local talent to shine.

It is another means of uniting the people of Nimba through sports.

The 2024/2025 District League is set to see exciting developments in its kickball and soccer categories. For kickball, a total of 18 players will be registered per district.

This roster will feature 12 players from the 3rd Division and 6 players from the upper leagues, including the 2nd and 1st Divisions.

In soccer, 25 players will be registered with each District showcasing three players from the 2nd Division and two from the 1st Division. This distribution aims to balance experience and skill across the teams,

The 2024/2025 District League is a collaborative effort between the LFA Nimba Sub Association and the Nimba County Sports Steering Committee, which is led by Mr. Diamond Yormie and co-chaired by Mr. Alphanso Glaydor.

The process leading to the successful commencement of the inter-electoral district league started with the distribution of footballs and jerseys to each of the districts across the county with each district receiving two balls and two sets of jerseys.

Every district will benefit from two sets of jerseys, transportation reimbursement, and feeding upon arrival in Ganta City according to the Organizing committee.

The league will feature both kickball and soccer. The official kickoff is scheduled for September 7, 2024, in Ganta City, Nimba County.
